Day 1

Kigali to Akagera — Arrival Game Drive and Lake Ihema

Meet your Sinza Safaris guide at your Kigali hotel, residence or airport for a briefing before travelling east through Rwanda’s hills, farms and rural communities to Akagera National Park.
Complete park entry formalities and begin a wildlife drive through savannah, woodland and wetland habitats. Watch for zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, topi, waterbuck and elephants; sightings depend on animal movements and conditions.
After lunch and lodge check-in, board the Lake Ihema boat for an afternoon wetland safari. Look for hippos, crocodiles and waterbirds along the shoreline, while animals may be seen coming to drink.
Dinner and overnight at your selected Akagera lodge. Meal plan: lunch and dinner.
