Day 1

Kigali City Experience to Volcanoes National Park

Meet your guide at the airport or hotel. If arrival time allows, visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and a local craft market for historical context and locally made souvenirs.
After lunch, drive north through Rwanda’s rolling hills, cultivated slopes and villages toward Musanze and Kinigi. Stop for photographs where the Virunga volcanoes come into view.
Check in at your lodge, receive a detailed briefing about the next day’s trek, prepare waterproof clothing and walking shoes, and rest early. Overnight: Volcanoes area. Meal plan: lunch and dinner.
