Day 1

Kigali to Akagera National Park

Meet your guide after breakfast and drive east from Kigali toward Akagera, passing rural communities and cultivated hills.
After lunch, enter the park for an afternoon game drive through open savannah, lakes and papyrus wetlands.
Look for zebra, giraffe, impala, buffalo and elephants as the light softens, then continue to your lodge for dinner and a safari briefing.
Overnight: Akagera National Park. Meal plan: lunch and dinner.
