Itinerary
Day by day.
- Depart Kigali early, around 6:30 AM, with your guide and travel south through Rwanda’s hills, farms and villages toward Nyungwe; the journey normally takes about five hours before activity stops.
- Visit the King’s Palace in Nyanza to learn about Rwanda’s royal history, then continue through Huye with lunch arranged en route.
- At Uwinka, receive a safety briefing and walk the forest trail to the suspended canopy walkway. Spend about two hours above the rainforest looking for birds, monkeys, butterflies and layers of dense vegetation.
- Continue to your lodge for check-in, dinner and an evening briefing about the early chimpanzee activity. Overnight: Nyungwe. Meal plan: lunch and dinner.
