About the park

Know the
landscape.

Sipi Falls is a cool highland destination on the slopes of Mount Elgon near Kapchorwa, where three waterfalls descend through farms, cliffs and green valleys. The experience combines scenery with local Sabiny and Bagisu community life.

Wildlife

Sipi is not a game park. Its attractions are waterfalls, mountain landscapes, farmland, butterflies and forest, woodland and highland birds. The surrounding Mount Elgon ecosystem supports montane plants and smaller wildlife.

Things to do

Hike between the three waterfalls, visit an Arabica coffee farm to see harvesting, processing, roasting and tasting, and choose abseiling, rock climbing, mountain biking, birding, village walks or longer Mount Elgon hikes.

Planning notes

Trails can be steep, uneven and slippery after rain. Wear hiking shoes, carry rain protection, water and a warm layer, and use qualified guides for climbing and abseiling. Sipi combines naturally with Jinja, Mabira, Pian Upe and Kidepo.
